Our Land and Water National Science Challenge

Our Land and Water was one of New Zealand’s 11 National Science Challenges, aimed at addressing critical issues in primary production and the sustainable management of land and water resources. Funded by MBIE with up to $96.9 million over 8 years, this Challenge fostered collaboration among researchers, businesses, and NGOs to achieve transformative outcomes. The research focused on enhancing global market value, innovative land and water use, and building collaborative capacity to ensure long-term benefits for New Zealand. The Figshare database hosts a collection of journal articles, reports, videos and educational resources that explore themes such as future landscapes, incentives for change and pathways to transition.
